I collaborated with Chemeketa Press to design a cover for the book The Art Is Long. This book utilized various historical literature written by a variety of authors that talked about medicine. When it came to this project the main purpose was to create the cover that would relate to the book and it’s themes. That is why I came up with the idea of having an x-ray effect that would show a skeleton.

Behind The Design

Before I landed on the x-ray skeleton idea I kept on coming up with common elements that would be associated with medicine, and history. Because of this I wanted to go outside the box and come up with something new but that would still relate to history, medicine, the arts, and the themes of the book. I first found this image of the skeleton on a public domain site, and then I edited it in photoshop to create that x-ray effect.
